PlayProbe is link-based playtesting for indie games. Share one link — testers play your build on any platform (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, or WebGL), no account needed — and you get structured surveys, screen recordings, and optional in-game Unity telemetry in one dashboard. You keep your build where it already lives; PlayProbe never hosts it. Setup in under 5 minutes.

"Loved the art style. Combat felt a bit floaty."
"Got stuck on level 3. Needs a hint system."
"Really polished for an alpha. Will play again."
The Workflow
How does PlayProbe work?
No build hosting, no SDK required. Works with Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and WebGL builds — just a link and real feedback. Testers add roughly five minutes of survey either side of whatever play time you set.
Create Your Test
Set up a pre-session survey, add your game URL or itch.io embed, and configure a post-session feedback form. Takes under 5 minutes.
Share the Link
Send testers your unique PlayProbe session link. They open it in any browser — no account, no friction. A WebGL build plays right in the page; a Windows, Mac, Linux, or Android build opens from your usual download link, and the surveys stay in the same tab.
Read the Results
See aggregated feedback, individual responses, star ratings, and open-ended answers. All in one clean dashboard.
Using Unity? On Pro you can install the PlayProbe SDK for in-game events, FPS tracking, and mid-game surveys. Learn more →
Features
What can you do with PlayProbe?
Everything a playtest needs, nothing it doesn't. Surveys either side of the session and the results dashboard on every plan; on Pro, screen recording kept for 30 days and then deleted automatically, plus mid-game questions on Unity via the SDK.
Pre & Post Surveys
Build structured question forms with ratings, multiple choice, emoji scales, and open text. Runs before and after every session.
Zero-Friction for Testers
Testers click a link and go — no account, no signup. Surveys run in the browser on any device, and your build plays however you ship it: WebGL in the page, or a download for Windows, macOS, Linux, or Android.
Bring Your Own Build
Embed a WebGL build in the session page, or point testers at your existing build on itch.io, Steam Playtest, or any download URL — Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, or web. PlayProbe never hosts it.
Aggregated Results Dashboard
Every response is visualised automatically. See rating distributions, text responses, and per-question breakdowns across all sessions.
Unity SDK
Install the SDK in minutes. Log custom events, track FPS, catch crashes, and trigger mid-game surveys — all synced to your dashboard.
Screen Recording
Capture the tester's whole screen during the session — so you see native desktop games too, not just the browser. One click for them, nothing to install. Stored 30 days, visible only to you.
Works with builds you already ship — on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, or WebGL — hosted wherever they live, like Unity WebGL builds, itch.io HTML5 pages, and Steam Playtest. PlayProbe wraps the session around your build — it never asks you to re-host it.
Comparison
Why not just use a Google Form?
Keep your Discord — just swap the form nobody fills in for one link that shows you what players actually do.
| A form in your Discord | PlayProbe | |
|---|---|---|
| Setup | Copy-paste a form, then chase people for replies | One link — done |
| Testers need an account | Often — or a login to reach your build | No — just open the link |
| Where players got stuck | You guess from vague comments | You see it: mid-game surveys + screen recordings |
| Results | Scattered rows in a spreadsheet | Auto-aggregated dashboard |
| Mid-game feedback | Not possible | Ask the moment it happens (Unity SDK) |
| Cost | Free, but low signal | Free to start · $19/mo Pro |

Help build PlayProbe — get Pro free for a year
PlayProbe is in beta. We're inviting a small group of indie studios to run real playtests with us, shape the roadmap, and get Pro free while they do it.
12 months of Pro, on us
Unlimited games and tests, screen recording, the Unity SDK, and CSV export — free for a full year. No credit card.
A direct line to the founder
You get my ear on Discord and email. Tell me what's broken or missing — I build PlayProbe around how real studios actually use it.
Founding Studio status
Permanent recognition when we launch, your game featured with your OK, and first dibs on everything we ship next.
"I'm building PlayProbe solo at Drages Studio — in the open, no VC, no dark patterns. I'd rather have ten studios who actually use it and tell me what's broken than a thousand signups who bounce. If that's you, let's build it together."

For Testers
Play indie games before anyone else — and shape how they turn out.
PlayProbe connects indie games with real players. Create a tester profile, browse open playtests, and give feedback that actually shapes games. No gatekeeping — just good games that need your eyes.
Built by an indie dev, for indie devs.
PlayProbe was created by Drages Studio — a small indie game and VR studio based in Czechia. We kept running into the same problem: getting real, structured feedback from playtesters without bothering them with forms after the fact.
We wanted a tool that respects testers' time, gives developers actual signal, and costs less than a coffee subscription. So we built it.
PlayProbe is a bootstrapped, solo-built product. No VC funding. No dark patterns. If it's useful, it'll survive.

FAQ
Questions, answered
PlayProbe is link-based playtesting for indie games: you don't host a build, testers don't make an account, and the feedback comes back structured.
Do testers need an account?
No. They open your link in any browser and go — no signup. They can optionally make a lightweight tester profile to follow games, but it's never required.
What platforms does PlayProbe support?
Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and WebGL — anywhere your testers can run your build. (No consoles.) It's link-based, so the engine and platform don't matter: PlayProbe wraps the surveys and recording around whatever build you already ship.
Do testers have to download my game?
Only if that's how you ship it. A WebGL build plays right in the session page, nothing to install. A downloadable build (Windows, macOS, Linux, or Android) opens from your usual itch.io, Steam Playtest, or direct link — and the surveys before and after still run in the same browser tab.
Do I have to upload my game build?
No. Embed a WebGL build directly, or just point PlayProbe at your itch.io page, Steam Playtest, or any URL — with an optional session timer. PlayProbe never hosts your build.
What engines does it work with?
Any — it's link-based, so it doesn't care what you built the game in. If you're on Unity and on the Pro plan, you can also install the PlayProbe SDK for in-game events, FPS tracking, crash capture, and mid-game surveys; those in-game features need both the SDK and Pro, everything else works on the free plan.
Can PlayProbe record native, non-browser games?
Yes, on Pro. Screen recording uses your browser's Screen Capture API to record the tester's whole screen — so it captures native Windows, macOS, and Linux builds, not just gameplay inside the browser. Recordings are stored 30 days and visible only to you.
Is it actually free?
Yes. The Free plan gives you 1 game, 3 tests, and 20 sessions per test, forever. Pro ($19/month) unlocks unlimited games & tests, 200 sessions per test, screen recording, the Unity SDK, the public tester pool, CSV export, and removes PlayProbe branding.
How is this different from a Google Form in my Discord?
You get structured pre/post surveys wrapped around the play session itself, results aggregated automatically, screen recordings, and — with the Unity SDK — questions asked mid-game. Forms give you scattered opinions after the fact; PlayProbe shows you where players actually got stuck.
Can I keep my test private?
Yes — tests can be public, unlisted (link-only), or password-protected.
How long does a playtest session take?
You set the play time; the surveys around it add about 5 minutes. Most sessions run 10–20 minutes end to end, and testers see the estimate before they start.
Do you pay testers?
Not right now. Testers play for early access to unreleased indie games and to help shape games they care about.
Who makes PlayProbe?
Drages Studio — a small, bootstrapped indie game and VR studio in Czechia, run by Jakub Gabčo. It's solo-built, no VC. If it's useful, it'll survive.
Ready to run your first playtest?
Free forever for your first game. No credit card needed.
